Trent Clugston
Fortress was founded by Trent Clugston, a Registered Nurse and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator with a passion for improving business operations, compliance, and quality outcomes.
Trent holds a Bachelor of Nursing from Shepherd University and a Master of Business Administration from Longwood University. Throughout his career, he witnessed firsthand how fragmented workflows, disconnected data, and time-consuming manual processes can undermine daily operations and risk management—pulling focus away from what matters most: resident care.
Motivated by the need for a comprehensive solution, Trent developed the Fortress Risk Management Suite—an integrated platform uniting daily operations, clinical risk monitoring, performance improvement, grievance management, and survey preparation in one system. His background in facility turnarounds, process development, Immediate Jeopardy (IJ) abatements, and quality improvement informs every feature, creating tools that drive real operational efficiency and lasting improvement.
Beyond the platform, Trent leads Fortress's advisory practice—partnering with clients as a trusted advisor across strategic business consulting, non-profit and board governance, and software development. Whether refining operational strategy, strengthening board effectiveness, or evaluating technology investments, Trent and the Fortress team help organizations safeguard their business and secure their future.
